Verkada is a leader in cloud-based building security systems, combining cutting-edge hardware—such as video cameras, access control systems, and environmental sensors—with cloud-based machine vision and AI technologies.

 

When I joined Verkada, I stepped into the role of sole designer, taking ownership of a wide variety of creative projects, including advertising, web development, packaging, environmental design, and branding. As the custodian of Verkada’s visual identity, I played a key role in establishing and maintaining a cohesive brand presence across all touchpoints.

 

By meticulously curating visual elements and aligning user experiences, I reinforced Verkada’s brand values while enhancing customer perception. This involved ensuring consistency across mediums—from digital interfaces to physical environments—and crafting designs that resonated with the company’s innovative ethos and target audience. My work not only elevated the brand’s recognition but also helped position Verkada as a forward-thinking leader in security technology.

Web Development

Verkada’s website serves as a vital touchpoint for potential customers, showcasing its sophisticated cloud-based software and hardware solutions. Recognizing the importance of this platform, I led the redesign efforts to simplify complex information and make it accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences. Through a carefully optimized user experience, I ensured visitors could navigate the site effortlessly and quickly find the details they needed.

By streamlining content and focusing on clear visual hierarchies, the redesign struck a balance between complexity and clarity, effectively addressing the needs of Verkada’s diverse customer base. This iterative process involved continuous refinement to align with customer feedback and the company’s goal of delivering a seamless, informative browsing experience.

Social Media Advertising

Social media advertising was a pivotal strategy in driving new business and expanding brand awareness for Verkada. I spearheaded the creation of impactful ad campaigns across platforms such as Facebook, Google, and Instagram, leveraging a variety of media formats to effectively showcase Verkada’s innovative products.

By employing a strategic approach to ad design and deployment, I played a key role in enhancing brand visibility and engaging target audiences. These campaigns achieved significant results, directly contributing to a substantial $15 million increase in Verkada’s marketing pipeline. This success underscored the power of thoughtful, data-driven advertising in supporting the company’s growth and market presence.

Video Production

I’ve found that one of the most effective ways to capture attention is through concise, visually engaging videos that deliver clear and impactful messaging. At Verkada, I had the privilege of creating a diverse portfolio of promotional videos and advertisements designed to elevate brand awareness and highlight product capabilities on a national scale.

By combining strategic storytelling with compelling visuals and succinct messaging, I crafted video content that resonated with Verkada’s target audience. These efforts helped to drive brand engagement, increase product recognition, and leave a lasting impression on viewers. Leveraging the power of video as a medium, my work contributed to strengthening Verkada’s market presence and supporting its continued growth.

Promotional Videos

One of my key responsibilities at Verkada was overseeing the development of a high-quality promotional video designed to showcase the company’s diverse range of products effectively.

 

Collaborating closely with my team, I helped craft compelling copy to enhance the narrative and engage the audience. In my role as Art Director, I supervised the Director of Photography (DP) to ensure the visual elements aligned seamlessly with Verkada’s brand identity and desired aesthetic. Additionally, I coordinated with vendors to secure the ideal shooting location and facilitated the casting process to select the right actors for the project.

 

By managing these critical aspects of production, I orchestrated a polished, impactful video that successfully highlighted Verkada’s products and reinforced the brand’s innovative reputation.

Field Marketing & Events

Trade shows served as a key promotional avenue for Verkada, and my role was to ensure the company made a lasting impression in these competitive environments. I designed visually compelling and strategically branded booth displays that helped Verkada stand out and attract attention in crowded trade show settings across the country.

To accommodate the diverse sizes and locations of these events, I developed modular booth designs that could be seamlessly adapted to fit varying spaces, from intimate setups to large-scale exhibits. Beyond the booth design, I created supporting materials such as pamphlets, flyers, and informational booklets to provide attendees with a cohesive and informative experience. Together, these elements reinforced Verkada’s brand presence and engaged potential clients, contributing to the company’s visibility and success at trade shows.
